چکیده
Abstract Introduction: Wilms' tumour is the most common childhood renal malignancy, with 5–10% of cases presenting bilaterally 1. However, there currently no consensus between centres on optimal management bilateral tumours. This an international multi-centre case series comparing and outcomes tumours low-income (LIC) high-income (HIC). Methods: Patients were identified from four tertiary referral internationally. Data collected baseline characteristics, disease status, treatment used clinical outcomes. Results compared individual as well groups Results: for forty patients. Most patients received preoperative chemotherapy (n = 38, 95%). The surgical procedures nephron-sparing surgery 10, 25%) nephrectomy partial 20, 50%). Ten-year survival after was follows: LIC's n 13 (65%); HIC's 20 (100%) (p 0.01). Discussion: significantly higher in HIC's. Our results show this may be caused by patient factors such later presentation more advanced centres. comparative first to report a large number multiple centres, compare key

متن کاملBilateral Wilms tumour: a review of clinical and molecular features
Wilms tumour (WT) is the most common paediatric kidney cancer and affects approximately one in 10 000 children. The tumour is associated with undifferentiated embryonic lesions called nephrogenic rests (NRs) or, when diffuse, nephroblastomatosis. WT or NRs can occur in both kidneys, termed bilateral disease, found in only 5-8% of cases. Management of bilateral WT presents a major clinical chall...
متن کاملHypoglycaemia with Wilms' Tumour.
Hypoglycaemia occurring in association with certain extrapancreatic tumours, mesodermal in type and mostly malignant, has become a well-established entity of organic hypoglycaemia. Conn and Seltzer (1955), in a review of spontaneous hypoglycaemia, added this group to the well-known causes of organic hypoglycaemia, namely, pancreatic, hepatic, anterior pituitary, adrenocortical and central nervo...
متن کاملAntenatally Diagnosed Wilms’ Tumour
Wilms' tumour (WT) is seldom seen in a neonate and prenatal diagnosis is rare. We present a case of antenatally diagnosed left sided WT with features of hydrops foetalis in a girl baby. Emergency LSCS was done at 34 weeks of gestation for foetal distress. Patient required mechanical ventilation for birth asphyxia and congestive cardiac failure. After stabilization, gross total resection of the ...

We report the presence of a nephroblastoma in a boy with bilateral radial aplasia and a balanced de novo (1;7) translocation. Case report The patient was the first child of he...
